Long Day

A long day is over. We've worked all day long cleaning, stocking and building bikes. The week off has served us well, some mtn. bike riding in the north Georgia mountains and some good hang time with a good friend. Stop in on friday or saturday (shop local at locally owned businesses) and check out the ellsworth truth that we have, kona jake, fuji road bike, and some of the other cool items we have in stock.

Closed for a few days

We will be closed for the next few days in order to get ready for the upcoming christmas season. These next few days will allow us to get ourselves together after a busy end of summer and early fall. We will also be making plans for the addition of a new neighbor thus giving us the title as the smallest bike shop in louisville.
We will be accepting special orders on bikes and parts for the holidays and we will offer gift certificates. We will also be prepping for a repair class hopefully starting soon after thanksgiving. Class size will be limited.

Swap Meet

Please help get the word out that the swap meet is on for saturday oct.1. Start time is around 1 pm. We hope to have a huge turn out. We will have special pricing on items in the store so be sure to check it all out.

We will also be signing people up for our repair classes, so sign up while you can.

T-shirts

We are getting new shop t-shirts in today. We will have a limited number for sale. Stop by today and grab a few.
The swap meet is on for oct.1, that's a saturday. Bring out all of your old stuff and sell and trade it to other riders. We will have lots of things on sale in the store too.

Park and ride in

We tried to get this going about a year ago and it didn't seem to take off. We were trying to get people to park at the shop and ride into downtown. It looks like this may be a great way for some of you to get to work. We are right off of I-71 at zorn ave., straight in river rd. and you are there. Think about it, the traffic is bad and may only get worse.

for everyone going to apple cx be aware that the sherman minton aka 64 bridge is closed until further notice. plan ahead so you can get there in time for your race.

September Special

Get your bike tuned-up and receive a free pair of Swiftwick socks {while supplies last}.
Tune-up includes drive train cleaning, gear adjustment, brake adjustment, true wheels, and check all bearings. Get your bike ready for the rest of the season or have it ready for next spring. The cost for the service is $80 {does not include parts}.

Mechanic Classes

We are getting ready to offer mechanic classes for this fall and winter. Sign-up now and get your spot, classes will be limited to 4 students per class. We will have several sessions so don't worry. Classes will need to be paid in advance and are non-refundable. The price will be $85 that will include service book and a discount on tools. We are looking forward to having you in class.

We now have energy replacement from frs,hammer,honey stinger. We have waffles, gu, and energy drinks. We have all of the above in stock.

New items in the inventory

We have lots of new and old items in inventory. We have frames ready to build at reasonable prices, take your pick from road, mountain, or cross. We have kids bikes in stock from retro type stingrays to bmx to small road bikes. We also have a great selection of helmets, socks, jerseys, and shorts. We also has lots of tubulars from campy, ambrosio, and mavic. Stop in and check us out.

Happenings

We are starting to put together some dates for a possible swap meet near the end of september or early october. We are also putting together dates for mechanic classes sometime in late october through the end of the year. Class sizes will be small but they will be frequent. Classes will meet several times a week over a 2 or 3 week period. Contact us for prices.

Now in stock khs bikes

We now offer a full range of bikes from khs. We have bikes in stock and if we don't have your size or color we can order it. We aren't like other shop that would have you wait days or weeks. Khs has a warehouse in louisville and if the bike is there we can sometimes have it same day or next day.

Attention, all bike reps, manufactures, and cycling related industry types. For the upcoming usgp and cyclocross worlds in louisville we will have space to rent on our lot for pit areas and expo type areas. Please contact us for more info. These events will be here before we know it. We are close to downtown and 1.5 miles from Eva Bandman Park home to the usgp and the cyclocross worlds.

The happenings at The Black Spring

Well we made it through another flood. We are open for business and ready to serve you. Speaking of serving you we have had lots of phone calls asking if we work on any bike. The answer is simple, yes. We work on all bikes from any shop. We are also welcoming patroons from other shops that have recently closed. You are welcome in our store.

We just picked up khs bikes and cruisers as well as pactimo clothing. Pactimo offers a custom program with a low minimum order with fast turn around. Check out the link. We are happy to special order any item that you don't see in stock. Don't see something you're looking just ask. Also we are still offer mechanic classes. The classes will be limited to 4 students, stop in the shop for details.

What A Weekend

We would like to start by saying thank you to everyone that stopped by, bought something, or just answered the phone for us. It was a great weekend for sales and service. This has helped us get some much needed cash flow.

We are one of the only shops with fast turn around on repairs and great prices on professional service. We received a very small of Mad Alchemy Embrocation, we have several different types. We also have you covered with Hammer nutrition products too. Check out our hard to find nos water bottle cages and seat and handlebar bags.

Open tomorrow High Noon

We will be open tomorrow at noon for our post flood/ St. Patricks Day sale. Stop in for great prices on our new old stock items. There are pictures of a few items posted in the photo album.

We need your help

As you know the shop has been closed for several days and the power was cut off by lg&e for safety reasons. The shop has taken on very little water, this is good. The bad news is we still have bills to pay and product to sell. I guess we will have to have some type of flood sale. Stop in and pick up those items you need and help us make it through this rough patch.

You guys are the reason we are here. It has been a slow start to the spring and as you know this type of business is driven by the weather. We hope to see you soon.

It's been awhile

As you know the shop has been closed for a few days. The river has flooded river road and I've had to close up until the river gets back within the banks. When I get the doors opened back up I will be ready to serve you.

In the up weeks and months I will be offering some new services and doing away with some old ones. One thing I am happy to announce is the repair class. Sign up in the shop or via phone. The class will be limited to 6 students and will run for an 8 hour period. The dates and times will be available soon. Contact the shop for all the info.

I am also working on getting the Cyclist Social resurrected in time for Thunder Over Louisville. My shop is a great viewing point and it has quick get away with little traffic. I'm working on getting the guy from last year to come down with burgers and hot dogs. Space and parking for this event will be limited so please let me know if you plan on attending.
